3rd Party Liability Insurance
Safety and protecting you from 3rd party claims is our utmost priority. Therefore, we ensure that all of our motorbikes come with a standard Compulsory 3rd Party Liability (CTPL) insurance. 3rd party damages caused by the motorbike renter are covered by our insurance as outlined in our Rental Agreement. Please read the agreement carefully and do not hesitate to ask in case of any questions. The following damages are covered by our 3rd party liability insurance:
- 3rd party bodily injury: up to THB 50,000 per person
- 3rd party death: THB 100,000 per person
- Maximum payout: THB 5,000,000 per occurrence
Rider Carefree Package
Enjoy your motorbike rental with our MadBike Rider Carefree Package which covers all damages (i.e. scratches, punctures, tire or rim damage) on your rental motorbike up to a sum of THB 20,000.00 during the term of hire. The renter is not responsible for repairs as well as any loss of fees that may accrue while the rental motorbike is repaired. The insurance is optional and covers damages to the motorbike related to an accident for an additional fee. It can be concluded during the booking process with us. With our Carefree Package you have peace of mind without any surprises.
- Package 1 (Economy & Standard category motorbikes, 110 – 125cc): THB 100.00 per day
- Package 2 (Premium category motorbikes, 155cc): THB 130.00 per day

Personal Accident Insurance
At MadBike we do not offer a Personal Accident (PA) with our rental services. Most of our customers have a personal accident insurance from their home countries, such as a travel insurance. Please make sure that that you have a sufficient coverage in the unlikely event of an accident and potential treatments. Local renters should ensure that their insurance covers them for motorbike riding in Thailand.
Gasoline Charges
Renters are required to return the motorbike with the same fuel level than at the start of the rental. The amount of fuel in is marked in the rental agreement.
In case you return the bike with less fuel than during pick-up, we will charge you THB 30 per bar on the tank level display.
Late Return Fees
As indicated in our rental agreement, renters are obliged to bring back the motorbike at the agreed time specified in the rental agreement. One rental day is 24 hours.
In case the renter returns the motorbike later than indicated in the rental agreement, we need to charge late return fees:
- >1 hour – 2 hours: 30% of daily rental rate (i.e. THB 100, THB 105, THB 135)
- >2 hours – 6 hours: 50% of daily rental rate (i.e. THB 150, THB 175, THB 225)
- >6 hours: 100% of daily rental rate (i.e. THB 300, THB 350, THB 450)
Motorbike Damages
Every renter wants a motorbike in a mint condition. As a renter you are obliged to bring the motorbike in the same condition back as when you started your rental with us.
We are always fair and transparent with our customers. In the case of damages, we will follow a strict process:
- Assess of the damage by MadBike staff
- Estimation by a professional repair shop (in case repair costs are uncertain)
- Charging of customers according to price list or estimation by local repair shop
We will get the bike fixed at a local motorbike shop. Therefore, we will charge renters for the required work and material. In addition, there will be a service or administration fee of THB 500.00 for the
In order to secure yourself against any additional damage and repair fees, you can buy our Rider Carefree Package for THB 100/ 130 per rental day to have peace of mind. It covers all damages to the motorbike until a damage sum of up to THB 20,000.
In case you have damaged the motorbike during your rental period, please find below an estimate of the damage & repair fees*:
- Lost keys (excl. delivery): THB 500.00
- Broken/ lost helmet: THB 600.00
- Broken/ lost mobile phone holder: THB 500.00
- Puncture (front/ back tire): THB 400.00 per tire
- Broken/ lost side mirror: THB 600.00
- Broken/ scratched bar handle: THB 500.00
- Broken/ scratched brake handle: THB 500.00
- Broken/ lost exhaust cover: THB 800.00
- Broken/ lost front fender: THB 1,000.00
- Broken front light: THB 2,200.00
- Broken back light: THB 1,600.00
- Damaged side cover: THB 1,000.00 – 1,500.00
*Please be aware of the fact that these fees are indicative and might vary depending on the exact motorbike type and severity of the damages.
In order to ensure that renters are not charged for damages which are not caused by them, we will check the motorbike diligently together with the renter and mark scratches or any other irregularities while handing over the motorbike. Renters can also take pictures of the motorbike before they start their rental with us.
